What Is Grok?
Grok is an AI assistant built by xAI, the company Elon Musk founded in 2023. In April 2026, SpaceX acquired xAI, and Grok now sits under a division called SpaceXAI alongside Grokipedia and Grok Imagine. The assistant runs on grok.com, inside the X app, on iOS and Android, and through a developer API at api.x.ai.
